The Martha Washington Quilters Guild invites ALL quilters of various skills and levels of experience. A prospective member is welcome to attend 2 sessions as a guest before requested to pay membership dues.
The guild meets Tuesdays mornings, on the 3rd floor of the Church of the Covenant, 267 East Beau Street, Washington, PA 15301. Quilting work sessions are held Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m., with the first Tuesday designated as a Children and Youth Services Charity workday. Come to work, come to play, bring a lunch, sit down and stay!
Business meetings are held at 12:30 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month. At our business meeting we discuss past, present and future projects. We also host a show & tell and a short program offered by one of our members. See our calendar for programs and special events!
The common thread for us is the love of quilts in all their forms, colors, and patterns.

The Martha Washington Quilters Guild:
The United States Bicentennial Celebration in 1976 generated increased interest in quilting. In 1980, Margaretta Rogers and Yvonne Clouser created the Martha Washington Quilter’s Guild, named for the location of the guild and in honor of the needlework skills of our country’s very first “First Lady”.
The Martha Washington Quilter’s Guild embraces working together to promote quilting in all forms, enhancing individual strengths, as well as supporting and encouraging the present day art of quilt making. Joining together to share ideas, skills, and knowledge are integral parts of the Guild’s activities.
The primary charity of MWQG is Children and Youth Services. All children taken into CYS are given an opportunity to choose a comfort quilt for themselves. The Martha Washington Quilters Guild supports many chairites and causes. Read more about MWQG and our charitable outreach. In addition to charitable contributions, MWQG holds biennial quilt shows the first weekend in November, on odd numbered year to encourage the sharing of our art and raise funds for our guild's outreach.
